Guide for writers:
* All copyrights are shared between Navel and the authors.
* Submissions are welcome for all sections except “Editorial” and “Front Page”.
* Article submission does not guarantee publication. If an article does not meet the requirements established at Navel Magazine, this will not be published.
* All articles should meet the following requirements:
- All articles should be original.
- All articles should be unpublished - including newspapers, blogs, interactive journals, magazines, etc.
- Navel Magazine will try to keep advertisement to a minimal level. Press releases may be acceptable under strict circumstances.
- All articles should have a minimum of 2,000 words. (Some shorter articles may be acceptable with the Editor-In-Chief's authorization).
- Due to the respectful and tolerant atmosphere promoted at Navel, all articles HAVE to be tolerant to ALL STYLES of dance. If it is a review for any product, activity, or performance, constructive criticism is accepted. We define constructive criticism as “the process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others, usually involving both positive and negative comments, in a friendly manner rather than an oppositional one.” - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constructive_criticism
- Reviews for any product, activity, or performance have to include:
~ Name of the artist/producer
~ Dates
~ Location (if necessary)
~ Any other information to prove the author was present at the event or had a FULL exposure to the product.
Reviews are the most sensitive material to publish. Be professional and ethical in your writing. Navel Magazine does not have to agree with your opinion, BUT we do have to agree with the way you provide information.
* Articles may include photos or videos if they are property of the author, or provided by a legitimate, verifiable source.
* Articles may be submitted at any time. If the author wants their article to be published in a specific edition, deadlines will apply:
- Deadlaine for specific edition is the third week of the following months: February, April, June, August, October, and November.
